Play First then Eat
Breakfast
Every student is provided the opportunity to eat breakfast at the school, at no cost to our families. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and after morning recess all students return to their classrooms to partake in Breakfast in the Classroom (BIC).
Lunch
We run our lunch program unlike most schools. At Avalon Elementary School, we play first then eat. Every grade level is provided 20 minutes of recess, followed by 20 minutes of lunch. Lunch is a time to refuel and relax before the afternoon lessons begin.
